Whacky Weekend :)

Its time for an update and a long one at that. ;) We had decided to go on a road trip this weekend and as the weekend winds down can say that I had one of the best times in this country ever. Finally it turned out that Soray, Sank, Nats and me left on the trip as Vips dropped out as he had a meeting with his guide. First stop was to be Pittsburg where there is a Venkateswara temple which is supposed to be pretty famous around these parts. Another attraction was the udipi restaurant situated near the temple.

A late night on Friday meant that we got up late on Saturday morning and consequently left Buffalo at around 9.30. It was my first time I had gone outside Buffalo and couldnt have picked a better place. Its one of the most beautiful cities I have been to... atleast till now ;) The hope is to see even better places in the times to come. Anyway back to the trip and it was a pretty eventful one. Soon after we left Buffalo, or so it seemed as I was back to doing what I do best... sleep, we got pulled over by a cop for speeding. Thankfully he didnt give us a ticket and let us off with a warning. We continued on our way and finally reached Pittsburg a few breaks later. We bypassed the city and reached the temple. Its a pretty nice temple though it took some time to get used to a temple with sliding doors and priests talking in english. As soon as such little differences were forgotten, it felt like a normal temple again and it was a good feeling. All the ingredients of a normal south indian temple were present and all those who have ever been to a south indian temple will know what I mean. ;) I am pretty much used to it, but this time around I had something I have never had before.. Soray's comments... and that made it an altogether different experience :)

We left soon after for the udipi restaurant and pretty much ate much as we could. Some dosas, uttapams and thalis later all of us couldnt pretty much move for a while and as Sank pointed out that is the feeling of being full and not the dead weight feeling you get from eating American fast foods. Somehow managed to get back to the car and decided to head back into the city of Ptitsburg. It must be the most picteresque and beautiful cities I have ever seen as I mentioned before. However, it isnt a city where you could walk from one place to another. The place being situated on a hilly terrain tends to go up and down. Took a ride on the train car from the top of the hill overlooking the main city and that was one view that will be remembered for a long long time. Finally we decided to head back to Buffalo at around 6.00 all contented. The ride back was uneventful.. thankfully no cops this time around and we reached Buffalo finally at around 11. Finally got to see the perimeter of downtown Buffalo on the way back and have to say that its a pretty spooky scary place after dark.

It was one great experience... but the best was yet to come.. the next day's trip to the state park beat everything .. but that description will have to wait.. as all good things must ;) Time to end this one here.. over and out ...
