Winter !!!

The winter has finally set in and it touched -28 degrees Celsius a couple of days back. Its been biting cold and it promises to be an altogether different experience. Took my mind off academics yesterday and got back to certain things that have been neglected for a couple of months now. It started off in the morning with spending time looking up something known as knowledge fractals which makes for pretty interesting reading.. :) Check out the link .

Also came across the gender genie which determines if the author of an article is male or female based on the kind of words used frequently. Try it out at here It works pretty well too.. I put in a couple of my blog posts there and the results were

Words: 657

(NOTE: The genie works best on texts of more than 500 words.)

Female Score: 735
Male Score: 1528
The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!

Words: 604

(NOTE: The genie works best on texts of more than 500 words.)

Female Score: 600
Male Score: 1140
The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!

So it works for me ;) Give it a shot. Its been accurate almost 61% of the time and Im guessing if every entry were more than 500 words long its accuracy might actually be what its predicted touching a pretty good 80%.

There was a mexican food fiesta for the library staff yesterday and although technically im not a library staff and actually work for the comp guys.. im sure ways can be found where good food is concerned. :) Ate tons of food and then almost got myself into a situation where I had to dance. :p Thankfully sank was nearby and I let him handle the dancing scene. ;) That reminds me to take it up again. :)

Came back home and left for the gym straight after. Not having been to the gym for almost a couple of months showed. Jogging for a mile or so wore me out and I could feel the hamstring and the back get stiff and sore. It seems there is a buffalo cricket club who have got hold of a matting surface for indoor play during the winter. One of my friends had mentioned that the matting is really soft which allows you to bowl at full tilt without having to worry about damaging your knees. Tried it out on the matting outside and true to form you could really let rip without having to worry about unevenness amongst other things. Its a different matter that the ankle is just a little bit sore today.

I, sank and nats decided to catch a movie afterwards. We met up with one of sanks school friends. Also met up with a senior from kgp from quite a few years back and was catching up with him on how it was during his time. We went out to watch "Oceans Twelve" and was a pretty good movie. You do have to keep focused though to keep track of what's happenig. I kind of liked the first one better. A couple of things deserve a mention though. The first thing is the addition of Catherine-Zeta Jones and it obviously makes for a great addition to the movie. She looks good in the movie... The storyline disappointed me though. There was another aspect of the movie that most people loved, including me. There was this one song in the laser scene everyones raving about. As it turns out its not in the OST but actually is a song called the "Thé à la Menthe" by "Nikkfurie" a French artist of the band "La Caution". I promised nats I would get the music clip somehow. Here it is A la Menthe from Oceans Twelve. Its instrumental with no lyrics so ppl who like instrumental should like it too ;) Had some great dinner and then crashed early as I had the first morning shift today.

Am at work and its absolutely dead here. :) Well it allows me to make use of this time to catch up on other stuff. This has been another long post.. over and out folks. ....
