Back to Work !!

Well the weekend is over and its back to work. It was a good weekend though. Came about at the right time when I was beginning to feel the need for a break. And it had all the ingredients of a good break. Lots and lots of sleep, lazing arnd on the couch watching movies and cartoons that soray had downloaded, apart from spending time doing the things that I like after a long time.

Friday at work was relatively quiet for sometime as the place wore a deserted look as most people had gotten a headstart on the Memorial Day weekend. I however, had to be at work for any unexpected issues that might pop up and true to form a few did pop up. Spent a major portion of the weekend sleeping. Also managed to catch up on one of my favourite activities after a long time. ;)

Sank and Nats landed up early on Monday morning and we decided to visit the "Eternal Flame Falls". Its perhaps the only instance in the world where you have a natural flame, fed by natural gas coming out of the rocks, burning behind a waterfall. It was pretty good and had a lot of fun. As I keep mentioning, having lived a major part of my life in mumbai which is a concrete jungle I always love to go hiking near any kind of greenery. This time of the year there wasnt too much water, but the small creeks running through the foliage made for a good hike nevertheless. Got a second lesson in never neglecting the signs your body gives you during the hike.

The hike did well to whet our appetite and we headed towards "Kabab and Curry", one of the better Indian restaurants in the area. There are many attractions to this restaurant and food is just one of them. ;) By the time we had wolfed down our food, the ability of which was being questioned by the waitress, who incidentally adds to the charm of the restaurant, we were too full to make the night time Niagara Falls trip that we had planned. We finally headed home and crashed soon after.

A pretty good break in an overall sense. Having said that its time to get back to finishing off the pending work that I have. Over and out..

I forgot to mention the comp cricket and the ever so realistic rain that washed off three days of play before I got fed up.. :D I didnt think I wud see something new in EA Sports after all these years of playing the game.. but there you go.. was reading an interview with the main developer and he talked about difficult it was to model the complexity of cricket.. but well they did a pretty good job considering that they modelled the frustration arising out of rain pretty well ;)

PS: but well that is only one of my favourite activities ;-))
