Friday !!
Finally the most anticipated of all the days of the week is here. Yesterday went to the first Thursday at the Square event at downtown Buffalo where you have fledgling bands and a few big ones play every thursday at the square in downtown Buffalo for free. Went with soray, sank and surabhi. People of all ages flock there. When I say all ages that is exactly what I mean. You had babies still in their prams and a few really aged people in their wheelchair. The majority of the crowd as you would expect at a rock concert were a wild assortment of young people in various states of dress or undress. I cannot still make up my mind if they dress up for an event or the other way around. Not that I am complaining. ;)
Well the music that played is more the new age rock with its emphasis on angst. The second band that played did well with their instrumental performances while their lead vocalist would do well to go back to the drawing board, weed or whatever it is that rock musicians go to for some inspiration. The music was pretty decent overall and considering its a free concert you cannot really complain. You also have to account for the fact that i like select few songs from the new age rock genre and prefer classical rock. Well there were a few people sporting Led Zep tees and looking suitably confused at the place.
Headed home after the concert, met a couple of friends on the way and all in all it made for a relaxing wind down after what was a little stressful day at work. Have been trying to get a schedule going which is proving to be a bit more challenging than I had thought. As I was talking to sank, working 40 hours a week can be every bit draining and leaves precious little time for other work. Am still managing to work on some of the things I had planned to do and need to put in that little bit extra to accomplish the rest.
Got up in the morning in the best possible way today and after getting a headstart on some stuff that I needed to do its back to work. You really cant complain when your day starts off well and bright. Lets hope it stays that way. ;)
